Baby Cody

Nicole and her husband, Reid, found me by way of a Facebook post my cousin, Julie, made. It has to be one of the most lovely, well worded reviews I have ever received. I don’t consider myself to be an emotional person, but it definitely brought a tear to my eye when I read it. Perhaps it’s because she’s currently living on the other side of the planet! That might be a bit of a stretch, but Vanderhoof is pretty far and I miss her dearly. Nicole happens to be one of her good friends and she and I have started a petition to bring Julie home.

Let me start by saying, Nicole is amazing! Her labour and delivery (from which she produced a 10.7lb baby!) sounds horrendous. Had I not asked I would have no idea. She appears to have bounced back beautifully. With Cody not even a week old,  her and Reid have managed to make it to the Elton John concert, get totally settled at home, and have newborn shots taken. These two are on fire!

Going into a newborn session, I always prepare myself for a good work out. Typically, it entails more then a half a dozen trips to the car, after which I inevitably end up carrying my many props up a massive flight of stairs, only to be followed by the standard photographers set of awkward positioning in attempt to capture the perfect angle. Needless to say, I was thrilled when I saw Reid putting on his shoes to come out and help me. When I say help – I mean he really did it all! Before I had my car properly stored in visitors parking, he had all my stuff upstairs and ready to go. Thank you again, Reid. I really do appreciate it so much.

Our session went great. Cody is a lovely little baby with the sweetest temperament. I hear he’s even sleeping in 4 hour stints throughout the night. There has to be some perk to having to deliver such a big baby.

I’m pretty sure Nicole started hitting refresh on my blog and checking for sneak peeks the day after our session. So, Nicole, I apologize for keeping you waiting. Here are a few photos to keep you going until your gallery is completed.
