My first blog in a month and a half! I have been feeling a tremendous amount of guilt for this neglect. What a wonderfully crazy time these past few months have been. A studio reno, which began at the beginning of October, that quickly segued into an enormous parade of mini sessions running well into December; throw in a few newborns, a maternity session, a couple of family sessions, and then cap it all off with our usual holiday shenanigans. I, admittedly, was teetering on the brink of exhaustion, but I am beyond grateful for such a busy opening for the studio!
I’m back, and thrilled to be kicking off this brand new year of blogging with the darling little Alyssa. She was every bit the perfect model for her Cake Smash Session. Beautiful, animated, and so very sweet. I had such a great time.
This session went off without a hitch. Erika clearly has parenting three small children down to a science. She and Alyssa arrived, beautiful cake in tow, right on time – having been dropped off by her husband who was then on his way to take their three year old twin boys to their swimming lesson. And here I thought my schedule was crazy.
I usually like to take a few minutes before each session to allow little ones to get used to the space. Alyssa, however, seemed totally unfazed. I guess being the youngest of three, one learns to adapt quickly. We started with a few portraits before the cake made its appearance, and then we were off to the races. A little hesitant with the cake at first, but as it turns out, it was the perfect motivation for Alyssa to take her very first steps. I am so pleased that I was not only able to witness and capture this milestone on camera, but that this sweet little girl and her mom were able to share this quiet moment together.
