Happily Ever After

I have always loved the storytelling that encompasses wedding and event photography, and I love this particular story more than most. Years ago, before I had ever met the bride, Shannon, I knew we were kindred spirits. Our constant quest for athleticism and fierce competitiveness alone supplies us with days worth of conversation. Shannon is such easy company and so much fun to be around, how could be not surrounded by wonderful people? Going into this wedding, I knew I was going to have a great time.

Mistakenly, I prepared myself for this day anticipating the mass confusion that is typical for the “getting ready” portion of the wedding. I arrived midafternoon at a beautiful hotel suite in Downtown Vancouver. Shannon and her daughter, Alex, (who happens to be my sister in-law) were as calm as anything. As if it took no effort at all, Shannon was dressed in a robe, full hair and makeup, and sitting on the couch with her latte in hand. We ran through my wedding photo checklist as if it were a daily occurrence for them. This, ladies and gentlemen, is how weddings should be done.

What an amazing thing it is to find your perfect match. Dave and Shannon are exceptional! They deserve every moment of this beautiful day. Amazing weather, a breath taking view complemented by perfect décor, and a room that was absolutely radiating with love and support made this wedding very special and STUNNING . My Sister in-law wore many hats on this particular day – maid of honor, daughter of the bride, wedding coordinator/planner, and all whilst pregnant in heels. Her talents never cease to amaze me.

Congratulations, Dave and Shannon. Thank you for letting me play a small part in your perfect wedding. I wish you a life filled with love, laughter and happiness.
