I’d like to present Harrison, the newest addition to the Norquay clan. Only a few short weeks ago I had the great privilege of photographing his cousin, Walter. Two babies, both due at roughly the same time. One early and another late – cousins destined to be great friends.
Harrison may have been two weeks overdue, but he certainly sprinted to the finish line. After an 8 hour labour Robin and Jeremy welcomed a 9lb baby boy into the world. Handsome as anything, with an amazing head of hair and a pair of lips to die for.
Newborn sessions are such a change of pace from my regular day to day. Stepping in to the studio I can feel myself exhale. The natural light flooding the floor, the sent of freshly laundered blankets and the white noise in the background is lulling even to me. Even though I have done many session like this, each time I am surprised at how tranquil my work space feels. Photographing newborns is almost a form of meditation for me. I love it!
It was beautifully quiet and calm in the studio the morning of this session. This little guy was so sweet and nice natured for his debut. Such a pleasure from start to finish. Thank you to the expanding Norquay family for giving me the opportunity to help you document the arrival of your next generation.
