Sarah and Brian Maternity

Meet Sarah. I have recently filled the pages of my blog with stories of her best friend Alex. It is now Sarah’s turn. Sarah and Alex go back a long way. She was Alex’s maid of honour, and they will now be having their first babies weeks apart from each other. There is something to be said for having a mom friend that is right there in the trenches with you – living the sleepless nights, selfless days, and the many milestones that fill the beginning of a parenting adventure. A friend like this is invaluable.

Although our recent drought has reeked havoc on our gardens and lawns, it has provided me with a spectacular new canvas. These golden colours in August are making my evening maternity shoots glow in a fashion that typically one can only find in a fall afternoon. I love the catch lights, the subtle haze, and the brittle grass. Maternity sessions like these are some of my favourite assignments: capturing the dreamy moments of a pregnancy coming to a close and the anticipation of a new life. Sarah and Brian are about to embark on a grand adventure.
