I had my two little assistants home from school on the day their cousin Wyatt came in for his 6 month photo session – it put a whole new spin on professional development day. I set them up with an assortment of games and crafts in my office as Auntie, Wyatt and I set to the task of capturing his milestone.
I truly believe a 6 month milestone is worthy of celebration. It is like a light has come on in this little man. He is funny, bright, and so handsome – I can’t even take it. I couldn’t have asked for a better family to expand my portfolio. They are game and keen for anything. I love that Alex brings her own vision to each session. It challenges me and forces me to step out of my comfort zone.
Not to toot my own horn, but I am a FUN Auntie. I take this job seriously, but to be frank, it’s not my job to be serious. It is my opportunity to indulge myself on only the fun part of child rearing. Wyatt thinks I am hilarious. His photo session was an absolute dream.
It does not surprise me in the least that my little girls are both as enamoured with Wyatt as I am. If you think an iPad loaded with games could hold them back from spying on this session, you’d be wrong. As they inched their way closer into the frame, Alex and I had little choice in the matter. These girls were getting in on the action – might as well change their clothes. I am a sucker for a cute cousin photo.
