Hello, Baby Eli

 

This morning I had the great opportunity to meet my husband`s second cousin`s newest addition. As luck would have it, I have recently gotten to know Kim and Don quite well. Now that we’ve spent some serious baby bouncing time together, I think we can officially drop the formalities and I will claim these two wonderful people as my own. Allow me to start again. I’m thrilled to announce that MY cousins, Kim and Don, have welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world. On August 28th at 10:27pm Baby Eli made his early debut. All 9lbs 2oz of him! I know I’m not the only one who was shocked to find out that Kim was carrying such a big baby in that tiny belly. My hat is off, Kim. You made it look effortless.

As happy as I am to know that I will soon have a studio to call my own, I am a little sad that I won`t be visiting my these newborns in their own homes as frequently. I find that being with families in their own surroundings really allows me to see them where they are most comfortable, as they find their footing together. As it turns out, Little Eli has been giving these two a bit of a run for their money these past few nights. That being said, Kim and Don seem to be managing to keep it together with their sense of humor still fully intact. I have no doubt they will be back on track in no time.

I had such a lovely morning with Kim and Don. I can confidently say that, as parents, they are going to be nothing short of amazing! Labour, delivery and recovery aside – bringing home a new baby is such an enormous amount of work, and the amount of love and support that I witnessed between these two was just incredible.

Thank you, Kim and Don, for allowing me to have a small peek into your wonderful lives. That handsome little baby of yours is loved more then you know. Try and remember that at 11 o’clock tonight  😉
