There has been another flurry of beautiful babies, and I am in my glory! When I received an email from Melissa about booking a session for her two little ladies, my immediate reaction was that of pure excitement. My first set of twins!!! I quickly busied myself shuffling things around in my calendar and hunting for child care. All the while thinking of all the adorable twins photos I had seen on Pinterest. It was only moments after all of the logistics of the session had been sorted out that reality set in. How was I ever going to manage two newborns? And then I proceeded to lose a whole night’s worth of sleep.
It has to be said, I spent our entire session in a constant state of awe. Melissa is AMAZING! She makes this whole twins thing look like a walk in the park. I have had this vision of what my life would look like if I had twins, and let me tell you, it’s not pretty. I imagine it to be total chaos. Melissa, however, appears to be unflappable. Burping, bouncing, feedings, diaper changes… Nothing out if the ordinary – JUST TIMES TWO! She appeared to float effortlessly (and without complaint) from task to task. I’m not sure she ever stopped moving. She is a saint and I am humbled.
As it turns out, Melissa was the recipient of a donation I had made to a silent auction for Pivot Point Family Growth Centre to which all proceeds were donated to the Autism Speaks Walk that took place on Sept. 14th A wonderful way to connect with the community, support a great cause, and have some fabulous clients sent my way. A win-win if you ask me.
I could gush all day about how adorable these two little girls are. My heart still melts thinking of how they calmed as soon as they were close to each other. As I expected, our session did take longer than most and I was exhausted by the end, but I think we pulled it off and had a good time doing it. Thank you, Melissa, for allowing me the opportunity to photograph your beautiful girls.
Now, come on universe. Keep those babies coming!
