Thankful

As I sit here with my laptop and my latte on a chilly fall Sunday, I find myself surrounded by reasons to be thankful. I have always loved the idea of Thanksgiving. We all lead such busy lives, I think it’s so important to take these moments to reflect. Here are just a few things for which I am so very thankful.

Today I am thankful for coffee, pumpkin candles, a cozy home, and most of all, NAPTIME! There have been many days that I have feltĀ  myself overcome with an urge to throw my hands in the air and yell “home free” when naptime finally rolls around, and with my husband being out of town, today is certainly one of those days. He’s only been gone since early yesterday morning, but I am actively counting down the minutes until my partner in crime returns and I can regain my sanity. To all the single parents out there, please know that I think you are amazing!

On that same note – I am thankful for my mother, who came and took my girls out on a much needed adventure yesterday afternoon. It only seemed fitting that the flu should run through my house the night before my husband goes out of town. With my head pounding and my patience running low, all it took was a single call and it was Grandma to the rescue! Sheesh I’m a lucky girl.

Another reason I am so thankful happens to live within “yelling” distance of me and my girls. That is my sister. Not only is she an amazing friend, but she is a better auntie to my girls then I could have ever hoped for. Really, there was no better way to spend a beautiful fall morning than to venture out with my camera, my kids, and my sister. I love these moments. Especially when they end with a latte.

All joking aside, I am most thankful for my happy and healthy kids, a husband who supports me to no end, good friends, good family and a turkey dinner that I had no part in cooking – thank you, Auntie Sue, I’ll see you at 6.
