The Skaling Family

I have a confession to make. I have been hoping for quite some time that I would have an opportunity to photograph this particular family. We have quite a few mutual friends, and have been introduced on many occasions. I’m not sure I’ll ever be so bold as to solicit work, but I am clearly not above sending suggestive hints through friends. I mean, come on – look at them. They’re a great looking family.

Personally, I am loving that the days are getting shorter and plan to capitalize on that early setting sun as long as possible. I was thrilled when Nadine chose to have our session at 6pm. I know from experience that it can be a dicey hour with young kids, being that it is so close to bedtime, but Chase and Mason did great – and check out that beautiful light! Well worth it, I’d say.

I had such a great time working with these four. Steve and Nadine are such fun and active parents, and they are so natural in front of the camera. They needed absolutely no guidance from me. Sweet little Mason is an absolute charmer. He has perfected his “cheese” face at such a young age – a true sign of brilliance 😉  Chase, however, did take a bit to warm up to me and my camera, but by the end of our session he was hamming it up and busting out the double thumbs up like he owned the place.

I left our session feeling great. I knew I had some great stuff and I’m pretty sure we all had a good time doing it. That is what I call a success. Thank you for venturing out with me, Skaling Family. I can’t wait to see those little boys for their Holiday Mini Session.
