Welcome to the world, Baby Charlotte

I seem to have hit a stumbling block with my blog writing. There have been times that I have found the words flow effortlessly – but lately, these words evade me. To be clear, this is in no way indicative of the experiences I have had with my clients as of late. Quite the contrary, actually – I have had nothing but wonderful sessions. It does, however, speak volumes of my lifelong battle with procrastination. Similar to my love of Pinterest, wherein I do far more “pinning” then doing, I have now taken to listening to inspirational Ted Talks about motivation and have continued down my path of procrastination. While the artistry and creativity of photography are my passion, sitting down to write about that passion is proving to be more challenging in recent weeks. Well, its time to get back on the horse.

While preparing to write this particular blog entry, I came across a quote that I find quite fitting:

And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been.

~ Rainer Maria Rilke

For David and Kelsey, it has indeed been a new year, full of new things that have never been. Following a New Year’s Eve spent in the throes of a marathon labor, these first time parents welcomed little Charlotte into the world. Had I not been told, I would have never guessed that this strong and healthy little girl had such a rocky start – the beautiful little baby that arrived at my studio was fully alert and ready to party. She may only be two months old, but she is already overflowing with personality. Kelsey mentioned that all of her photos of Charlotte are filled with motion blur and I believe it. This little girl is a mover shaker! I take much pride in my swaddling skills, but even I couldn’t come close to keeping her arms contained. It was absolutely hilarious how fast she escaped.

I had such a great time with this little family. Both Kelsey and David seem to have jumped into their parenting roles with both feet. They make such a wonderfully effortless team and listening to them interact with their new baby warmed my heart. Little Charlotte is a lucky girl and there is no doubt that she is going to have such a beautiful life.
