After the longest, warmest, driest summer in years – I can’t tell you how happy it makes me feel to see my sweaters again. I love fall. I love that the world paints itself with my favorite colours. Inspired by the season and prompted by client requests I made the decision to host a series of fall mini sessions. A late night facebook announcement, followed by a morning responding to requests and by noon that day my slate was filled. Therein began my search for the perfect location.
I needed space. I needed a fall pallet. I needed the giant oak tree in my Aunt’s front yard. Sunny Side Saddle Club – a gem tucked right in the middle of suburbia. Perfection.
Mini sessions are my opportunity to reconnect with my regular clients and perhaps pull a few more into the fold. One of my favorite components of a family sessions with repeat clients is the relationship that overtime seems to develop with my subjects. The more comfortable we are with each other the easier I step into role of a non-intrusive observer. The arrive in their best attire and on their best behavior – they are photo ready and picture perfect and my goal is to pull out the personalities and make their photos come alive. That is the memory.
I want to thank everyone who made the trek out to South Surrey last weekend. The weather was perfect, I had a great time and now on to the planning for our Holiday Mini Sessions. Hope to see you there too.
