This beautiful baby turned two on October 8th. Little Elise happens to be the daughter of a dear friend and a former colleague of mine. I love being a stay at home mom, and now that my photography business is taking off things are darn near perfect. That being said, I do have one regret for not returning to my former role at Fraser Health, and that is my friend Sarah.
Now having both had babies, one might think this would have brought us closer together. Alas, busy lives, packed schedules and a bridge seem to have gotten the best of us. Much time has passed since I last saw her and I miss her dearly.
I received an email from Sarah while she was in the midst of making plans and gathering the troops for Elise’s 2nd birthday party. I’m thrilled she thought to get in touch with me. What a perfect opportunity to have some family photos taken. You even managed to get them coordinated so nicely, and I know from experience that is no small feat. Well done, Sarah!
It was a perfectly themed Sesame Street birthday party complete with a beautiful homemade birthday cake. Sarah and Yannick sure know how to throw a great party. Elise is a lucky girl.
I have to say, I left feeling rather emotional. For many years Sarah was such a huge part of my life. There are no words to describe how happy I am to see her life taking this direction. It’s my opinion that motherhood has brought out the best in her. She is amazing. Not only that, but she has a wonderful husband, a beautiful baby, and today her lovely home is filled with fantastic people and so much love for her little girl. Doesn’t get much better then that. However, I think a case can still be made for the possibility of doing all of these same things on this side of the bridge. Langley is an awful nice place to live and I know of an area that has some pretty awesome neighbors (wink wink).
