Welcome to the World, Baby Katie

Truth be told, I am a present-peeker and over-planner to my very core. It is beyond me how anyone could wait to find out the gender of their baby. The mere thought of even waiting to find out about a client’s “unknown” gives me anxiety. Should curiosity really kill the cat, I am in big trouble. Wendy and Tim have kept me in suspense for months. Luckily enough for me, I booked this session knowing I’d have a line on some back story. One of my Mom’s dear friends happens to be this baby’s Grandma June. Once I had been given the scoop on this family’s baby track record, I was fully expecting a boy. Turns out, I was wrong. Ladies and gentleman, I am pleased to announce that IT’S A GIRL! 10lbs 4oz of beautiful baby girl, to be exact. Congratulations Bloye family, you now have a little lady in you midst.

As a budding newborn photographer, hearing 10lbs 4oz my immediate thoughts are that of sympathy for the baby’s mother and what props of mine is this baby going to fit in to? Katie happens to be the most perfectly proportioned little package of sweetness I have ever seen. She was such a dream to work with, I am still swooning. Get a load of that perfect pout – she is stunning!

I maintain the bigger the baby, the bigger the belly for feeding and the more sleep there is for mama – and it’s sleep this Mama’s going to need. Also thrilled to be welcoming home his new baby sister is two and a half year old Thomas. This little boy is so sweet with “his baby.” As is the case with most toddlers, he seemed to have a keen understanding of my wanting to see some sibling love, and then witheld the goods! There were many kisses and cuddles for Katie until I brought my camera out. Things were a bit touch and go for a moment or two, but once I spilled the beans about the trampoline in my backyard right outside the studio, we were back in business. I have to say, getting  his handsome little face in front of my camera was icing on the cake of an already perfect session.

By the time our session had finished and Wendy I were ready to go collect her boys, we came to find my Mom and Tim chatting and little Thomas sitting up at the island having lunch with my girls. Seems a great time was had by all.
