I am a busy mom, no question. My children keep me hopping from morning to night. Their sheer multitude of activities makes MY mother’s head spin. At the end of their day, as things wind down for my little girls, my mind is still going a hundred miles an hour. I kiss them goodnight, lace up my running shoes, and head out in search of some therapeutic pavement. As my feet carry me forward, my brain switches gears – suddenly I am Erica the photographer. I am writing blogs, conjuring images, and preparing to end my day in the studio.
I’ve been quite certain that I have been pushing the limit, but then in walks Shelly – I have been bested. Although I feel we have much in common, I am humbled by her presence. Her enthusiasm for life, her dedication to her children, and her passion for businesses is nothing short of inspiring. She emotes such a positive aura, it’s contagious.
She is both an experienced mom AND a new mother at the same time. Her eldest, Ainsley, is a darling girl. Shelly and her husband have chosen the route of homeschooling for Ainsley, and this option has never seemed so appealing to me as when I met this funny, confident, and well rounded little girl. She is welcome in the studio any time, as she is a pleasure to be around and she makes for a wonderful assistant.
One look at the expression on Ainsley’s face and you know that Tasha is one lucky baby. The sheer amount of love coming at this little girl from every direction is palpable. She is perfect; beautiful complexion, button nose, and pouty lips – a doll baby. It took some time for her to settle, but once she did, she was a perfect model for her debut.
It was an absolute delight for me to spend a few hours with Shelly and her gorgeous girls. As the session ended, I was left feeling rejuvenated. I know tomorrow will dawn with its usual chaos, but I am ready – bring it on!
